Online and In-Person Writing Workshops are designed for Writers of Color to develop their writing in a space free of white dominance and critique. Once our work is out in the world, audiences of all kinds will find it and have their opinions. But developing that work in mixed groups can make the process of finding and developing our authentic voice, tone and even subject matter, more difficult.
Whether you are writing explicitly about race and identity, or want to develop your work in a space centered on your authentic voice, where it can arise truthfully and organically without white resistance or questioning, these workshops are for you.
My next workshop, “The Time To Write,” is scheduled for November 16 in Tacoma (location TBD). It is a one-day retreat designed to give a small group of writers the time, space, guidance, and inspiration to get some writing done. And, if you’re a POC-identified writer, you’re invited.
